🇪🇺 Invoicing solution Finto raised a $125k seed round from YC.

🇪🇺 Alternative data insights platform Stockline raised a $125k seed round from YC.

🇬🇧The UK topped fintech investment with $7.2bn in H1 2025, attracting more funding that the rest of EMEA combined according to KPMG.

🇬🇧 Blockchain based cross-border transfer service Riva raised a $3m pre-seed round from Project A.

🇬🇧 BNPL for car servicing Bumper raised $11m from Autotech Ventures, Shell Ventures and Suzuki Global Ventures.

🌍 Crypto payments provider Mesh raised a fresh funding round from PayPal, Coinbase, Uphold, Mirana Ventures and more.

🌍 Wealthtech Cache raised a $12.5m Series A.

Challenger Banking 🚀

🇪🇺 The board of N26 are seeking to replace the neobanks founders.

🇬🇧 Cross-border transfer solution Wise is partnering with Google to integrate FX rates into relevant searches.

🇬🇧 Monzo scored 98 out of 100 by consumers in a ranking by 11:FS to take the top spot.

🇬🇧 SME lender iwoca is partnering with Teya, the financial services platform for SMEs to distribute loans to its customers.

Digital Assets ₿

🇪🇺 Neobroker eToro reported 91% of its Q2 revenues came from crypto trading, a modest improvement from 93% in Q1. Revenue was $2.09bn and total cryptoassets were $1.91bn.

🇬🇧Bitpanda is now available in the UK and claims to have the largest crypto offering, with 600+ crypto assets available.

🌍 Stablecoin issuance infrastructure Paxos has applied for a national trust bank charter.

🌍 Digital asset custodian Copper announced it signed FalconX as a customer who will integrate their off-exchange settlement solution, ClearLoop, into their own solution for it's clients.

🌍 Tradfi firms including BofA, Circle and DTCC have used the Canton Network blockchain to complete an on-chain US Treasury financing transaction.

🌍 Payment firm Stripe and stablecoin issuer Circle are each working on developing their own L1 blockchains.

🌍 Circle shares rose after beating expectations but still reported a Q2 loss, incurring expenses related to its IPO. It also announced a 10 million secondary stock sale.

🌍 Citi are providing blockchain technology to cross-border payments firm Payoneer for intracompany money transfers. The bank is to also explore stablecoin payments.

🌍 Shares of crypto exchange Bullish ended their first day of trading 83% higher than the issue price.

🌍 Crypto exchange Gemini launched a self-custodial smart wallet.

Traditional Banking 🏦

🇪🇺 Santander is to roll out ChatGPT Enterprise to its staff.

🇬🇧 Lloyds has launched an in-app barcode solution for cash deposit scanning at PayPoint stores. The bank also won a tender to provide payment processing to several government departments.

🌍 Australia's CommBank is to provide employees with access to OpenAI.

Fintech Infrastructure 🚧

🇪🇺 Marqeta completed the acquisition of TransactPay.

🇬🇧 10x Banking was selected by New Zealand's Co-operative Bank as its new core banking technology provider.

🌍 Global credit bureau Nova Credit signed Canadian bank Scotiabank as a customer.

Payments 💰

🇪🇺Payment processor Silverflow signed Payabl as a customer.

🇪🇺 Klarna is now a payment option for merchants using WooCommerce. It also reported losses in Q2 due to restructuring charges for its office reduction.

🇪🇺 Global payment solution Airwallex received a MiFID licence from the Netherlands.

🇪🇺 Shares in payment processor Adyen plunged after it cut revenue forcasts due to impacts of US tariffs.

🇬🇧 BNPL provider Zilch doubled revenues and now serves 5 million customers.

🌍 Businesses using Stripe can now accept Pix thanks to an integration with Ebanx.

🌍 Western Union acquired rival International Money Express for $500m.

🌍 Payment processor Nuvei is embracing stablecoins.

🌍 The NY AG is suing Zelle operator Early Warning.

🌍 Affirm expands its partnership with Google Pay and also enables autofill on Chrome.
