  • Shawbrook plans a London IPO in 2025 to fund growth and boost its profile , targeting a potential valuation at around £2 billion (~$2.7 billion).
  • Optasia aims to raise $375 million through a Johannesburg Stock Exchange listing, selling shares and using the proceeds to acquire companies and expand its AI fintech operations.

M&A - Fintech
  • Coinbase and Mastercard held advanced acquisition talks to buy BVNK, the UK-based stablecoin platform, in a deal valued between $1.5 billion and $2.5 billion; terms and the winning bidder have not yet been finalized.
  • Grantd acquired StockOpter, a platform that helps financial advisors model and track equity award strategies, to expand its AI-powered equity compensation guidance and planning tools.
  • Juniper Square acquired Tenor Digital, an AI-enabled platform for private credit lenders and loan administrators, expanding its unified platform for GPs as the private credit market is estimated to reach $3 trillion AUM by 2028.
  • xpanding its role as the leading operations partner for GPs in private credit.
  • OpenAI acquired Roi, an AI-powered personal finance app, to advance personalized consumer AI solutions.
  • Ramp acquired Jolt AI to strengthen its core AI platform and enhance the internal developer experience for building AI-powered products.
  • Synchrony Financial acquired Versatile Credit, a financing software provider, to provide in-store and online credit offerings for retail merchants and healthcare providers.

M&A - Banks and Financial Institutions
  • Fifth Third Bancorp agreed to acquire Comerica in a $10.9 billion all-stock deal, creating the 9th largest U.S. bank with around $288 billion in assets under management.
  • HSBC announced plans to buy out minority investors in Hong Kong's Hang Seng Bank through a $13.6 billion offer.
  • Huntington Bancshares and Veritex Holdings secured all required regulatory approvals for its pending merger, with closing expected October 20, 2025.
  • Franklin Templeton acquired Apera Asset Management, a pan-European private credit firm, strengthening its global alternative credit platform to over $90 billion AUM.
